Halloween Candy isn't just skittles and chocolate. You can make your own Halloween Candy to treat your favorite crafter or to file for your own future use. Card Candy is typically made from scraps of card stock, or leftover project ideas. This one is made from some of my favorite Stampin' Up! Halloween stamp sets.

Getting Ready for Halloween

I finally was able to get to making some of the great projects that we got to see at Convention '07 in Denver!
Two Lanterns hung from Black Organdy Ribbon - attached with a black bradShelli Gardner showed a great Halloween display and one of the items was a garland that she created using many different lanterns made from Stampin' Up!'s Creepy Crawly Designer Series Paper. These were so easy to make from a half sheet of 12x12 DSP. You simply cut the 6x12 piece into 12 one inch strips that are each 6" long. Then, using the "just gotta have" Cropadile from Stampin' Up! punch a hole in each end of the stack of 6" strips.
Close Up of Lantern & Batty for You CharmUsing the black Gingham Ribbon, thread it through each end and secure with a knot at the top and bottom, squooshing the lantern to your desired height. I've added little double sided charms onto the tails of these Jack-o-Lanterns that were created with the Batty for You stamp set. Bitty Boos Too and Booglie Eyes would also make great charms to be added to the bottom of these lanterns.
The Cropadile Makes punching a hole through the 12 layers easy as can be! If you would like to receive by mail an envelope containing all the supplies you need to assemble one of these lanterns, just leave a comment below! Altered Frame with Recollections or Porcelain Prints Designer Series Paper

In the previous Idea Book & Catalog, Stampin' Up! had a Designer Series Paper called Recollections, which coordinated with the Wild Rose Stamp Set. In the current Fall Winter Collection you can find a reworking of this product on page 171, and it's called Porcelain Prints Designer Series Paper. It is the same print as before, but in updated colors to coordinate with the new InColor Classic Ink Pads and Card Stock.

Nearly Complete, and SO EASY!I covered this plain wooden frame that I bought at a craft store with the Designer Series Paper. First I gave the inside edge a light coat of craft ink which I applied with a Sponge Dauber, then covered it with the Designer Series Double - Sided Paper. I distressed the edges with a sanding block, used the Direct to Paper technique with the Craft Ink to distress it even further. Later, I will attach some accessories, maybe a bit of Hodgepodge Hardware or Jumbo Eyelets (p 188-189), additional stamped images, and/or our ribbon found on pages 190-191.

Touch of Nature Inspiration

I have admired the Touch of Nature Stamp Set since it came out, but didn't buy it myself until I
Artist Unknown but so appreciated!saw this bit of Inspiration in Denver at the Stampin' Up! Convention. The Touch of Nature Stamp Set is so detailed and beautiful, and this caused me to place my order right away. Now I can't wait to come up with some framed art to enhance my home! I took the photo at an angle, without my flash, so that one could see the extent of layering and depth within the frame. Wow!

Wish me Happy Anniversary!

I couldn't let the day pass without sharing with you that yesterday was my husband's and my 20th Wedding Anniversary. Isn't it funny how it seems like forever, but also like the wedding took place just a few years ago! I guess four kids ranging in age from 9 - 16 are daily reminders of how quickly the time passes. I am certainly counting my blessings.

Happy Anniversary to us!Here is the Anniversary Card I made for my husband. I CASED it from a swap I received at Convention with minor color changes. The designer's name is Loydean Wood. I think she made a great card. I used the Wild Wasabi Textured Card Stock, and the Brocade Background Designer Series Paper. The little bit of bling comes from the Ice Square Rhinestone Brads. This Illuminations Stamp Set is great! I bought it with the intention of using the "Joy" and "Hope" images to create some Christmas ornaments. I want to try to figure out how to combine the "Thanks" image with a "give" spelled out from the Rough Edges Mini Alphabet and use that for place cards for Thanksgiving... Lots of plans!

Vases In Vogue Stamp Set

When I first looked at Stampin' Up!s new Fall Winter Collection I really didn't give a second look to this stamp set, but Vases in Vogue has surprised me! Even after 7 years as a Demonstrator I still couldn't have predicted what beautiful samples this set can create! Check these out!

In the two samples on the right, the vase images were stamped, then cut out and adhered to the cards. The sample on the left instead stamped, colored, and then applied Crystal Effects to provide a raised smooth and shiney surface. Beautiful and elegant!

I am able to credit the artists, one is a good friend I've come to know over the years, Susan Campfield (thanks Susan for sharing this!) and the other card was created by Susan Barron. Both of these are adorable, and this Three for You Punch Box is on special during the month of August!

I am back from Convention!

I can't imagine that you had as much fun as I did while I was at the Annual Stampin' Up! Convention in Denver last week! Well, maybe you did but then it must have been SO AMAZING! I've been very busy planning my new classes and new specials, and of course I had to share my excitement with the members of my team, Sharing Art With Heart. (Yes, the name is very similar to this website's name... website is "stamping" and group is "sharing" because that is what we do!"
